	With everything prepared fresh daily, the menu is filled with tempting choices. The Greek diet, like that of other countries around the Mediterranean, is extremely healthy, being lower in processed foods and animal fats, and is often based on local produce, wheat products such as bread, pastry and pasta, fresh fruit and vegetables, fish and olive oil.
	You might begin your meal with pita bread and dips such as taramosalata (smoked cad roe) or santziki (garlic, yogurt and cucumber). Or, try a hot appetizer like kalamaria tiganita (pan fried calamari with lemon butter and garlic) which is guaranteed to get your meal off to a great start!
